Twelve cases are on a four foot wide three shelf unit from the depo. The guitars hang on the walls.

I stand mine against the wall and enclose the original guitar in each one to make sure the case maintains its shape. Bob

I've got only one, and its inside its original plastic bag inside the shipping box it came in, with 2 huge garbage bin liners around all that, stored in what goes for our garage (more like a barn). It'll come out if ever I need to ship the corresponding guitar, and then we'll see if it's still fit for that purpose or if it moves to one of the firewood sheds

Most cases with my better guitars are leaning against the wall in my bedroom. I control the climate in there, somewhat - a humidifier, and I can access them quickly.
A few empty cases are in the basement, but as I have a dust issue in my house, I've been casing them again, once I clean/restring them. A couple laminated tops in cases are in the living room. Easy access. I'm keeping one of these in particular, as it sounds good, it's a sentimental item and it's my take it out guitar when it's 15 degrees Fahrenheit outside. And I've a couple, not many, left in the music loft, which is now an embarrassing mess, and when I clean those ones up, they are getting re-cased and possibly sold off. Once that area I cleaned I may move some back up there. I recently bought a Roomba and the dog hair problem is no longer and issue and I'm hoping the dust problem will get better as well. Too many? hah!

Eight plus a soft case in my bedroom, have about half a dozen electric cases in the sun room. There might be a guitar or two in them, have not checked for a while.

I place cases in random places. But never near the fireplaces. Fortunately I have open spaces. You should see my friends faces. They ask if I have data bases for my cases.

Have a couple of these mounted in the room I keep most of them. Cases here, most guitars in cases when not in use. You can have a few and make it as tall as you want. Keeps them off the floor and easy to get to. Fits most cases but the very "thick" ones.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BY5F99V This is a solution if you have too many guitars. |

I'm planning to donate an extra Teton guitar to a fund raiser for youth event next month and will be adding that hard case to the package for bidding. ...

Empty cases in the attic, we live in <800 sf. We humidify in winter, so I don't case guitars except.my Santa Cruz, which lives in a wall case for now. After a couple years, I'll want to expose that one to a little more variation.

I have a platform bed that I built when I lived in a 600 Sq Ft cabin in Alaska. As you, could imagine, storage was a bit of an issue. I also lived with a tiny cat and 107 lb dog living there too. So the bed is tall enough that I can put two layers of cases under it, if I want. Or one layer of milk crates.

All empty cases (the majority) are in a basement storage room.
They are in an oddly shaped nook that isn't the best for other storage. It's often a hassle to find the right case, and often the whole pile falls down when I try and grab one in the middle. Better than having them clutter up my practice spaces.

Yeah, me too. But it’s crowded in there, to the point where when I have to get something out, I have to plan the extraction: move 4 or 5 cases around to get a different one out.

I must be weird. My guitars are lined up against the wall in my music room, with the guitars in them. The only exception is whichever one is currently out in the rotation. That one hangs on a String Swing by the door.

I use a high shelf in the garage for cases, stacked 2 or 3 high, labeled.
I do not use cases in the house or in normal life. My guitars are free-range on guitar racks, easy to grab or admire, & the whole room is climate controlled. If I have a ‘gig’ I use a gig bag.
