Mahalo...
if you end up with a Style 2, personally I'd get an aftermarket pickup installed just to preserve the raw beauty of it.

I'd do the same.
Also, you get to choose from a wide array of great systems that way.

I would say that is good advice for any R. Taylor... I dont mind the ES, but I would never have it put in if I was building the guitar

If you really love the ES, you can go with the ES Stealth....it is basically the same sans the 3 knobs i believe....

thus, no holes cut in the guit.....and you can take the system out and replace it if you ever wanted to....because technology advances.....and that includes guitar electronics....chances are you will want a better system in it some day...and when that some day comes, you won't want those holes in there!

For my money, you can't beat the K&K Western Mini. I'm an ES fan, but I think the K&K gives you comparable tone without the hassles of the ES, ie, battery, maintaining a balanced signal. I'm putting one in my R Taylor when it arrives.

I think the new model will be quite a hit... Taylor never ceases to amaze me... they just keep on coming out with more great guitars!

I am thinking a venetian cutaway Style 2 with the Tortoise shell Mahogany back/sides, redwood top, with maple binding would work out fine for me.
