Sir convolution reverb, the original, not Sir2, works well and is free at this point. Currently I use
Sir2.

I use Voxengo Sound Delay on almost everything (aligning channel timing, volume levels).

I use Voxengo r8brain. Though Voxengo r8bran Pro is fancier the Voxengo r8brain is itself a very
highly rated re-sampler, and its free. http://www.voxengo.com/product/r8brain/

i tried this plugin before but couldn't quite figure out how to apply it to one side of a stereo track. i'll search around for some documentation.

I use the "Chorus" from Blue Cat Audio

http://www.bluecataudio.com/Products...ry_0_Freeware/

Also Massey has Demo versions that you can use as long as you like BUT you cannot save the settings no automation etc.

IMO the Massey L2007 Mastering brick wall limiter, is one of best there is.

Routing -> Dual mono (if memory serves, not at DAW at the moment)

In the mixing stage I use a lot of the Rea plugins that come with Reaper. ReaVerb, with the free impulse files available, is a nice all-around reverb sound; ReaEQ is an excellent EQ. I use ReaComp sometimes as a track compressor.
For the mastering stage I use the Kjaerhus Master Limiter and sometimes the Density MkII compressor before it (usuually it works best for rock songs, not so much for acoustic songs with a lot of dynamics).
I've got lots of other free plugins - other reverbs, and modulation effects and VSTisynths, but seldome use any of them.
