Default Original - The Barramunga Brawl

On April 11, 1901, my great-grandfather, a saw-mill owner at Barramunga in the Otway Ranges, was assaulted by an employee, a giant of a man named Joseph Laithwaite. The daily paper records a "brutal assault", which earned Joe 3 months in the slammer.
I have a photo of great-grandfather. He is a wiry little man with a big, bushy beard. He would have been no match for big Joe!
