Default Pick ups are tilted.

I recently brought a pick up guard from eBay for my Fender Squire Bullet. I fitted it last night but now my pick ups are titled either forwards or backwards.

I fitted the cone springs with the large end against the pick up guard. Should it be the other way around?

Other than that the only other thing it could be is that the slots for the pick ups are cut too big allowing the pick ups to move.

Typical Chinese eBay junk..

I turned the strings over and the pick ups seem to be a bit better. Not as good as on the old pick guard, but still ok.

You don't turn your strings over? I turn mine over every 10,000 notes to equalize wear.

You know swap them over and play left handed for another 10000 notes...

Yeah sorry I meant springs. I put the wider base against the pick up and it seems to be better. Although still tilted to some degree.

I was thinking of buying this pick guard on eBay with humbuckers. It seems cheap enough. What do you think? Is it worth getting hum buckers?

once wasn't enough?

note that unless you are in oz, you'll have to pay more for shipping.

don't use the springs.. they apply notoriously too little "up force" to accommodate any idiosyncrasies... use Silicone tubing.. You can get it at about any toy or hobby shop servicing the Remote Control Cars or airplane enthusiasts.. a foot of the stuff will probably cost 50 cents...

It is the same exact stuff the Guitar parts shops sell at way more than the 50 cents..

Then check the leads coning from the pickup, sometimes they can get bunched up and shove the pickup up at a crooked angle when the pick-guard os tightened down

Thanks Ron. Yes I know the tubing your talking about. I used to fly radio controlled planes and think I might have some tubing.

Automotive vacuum line will also work in lieu of springs for Caster type pickup mounting. For less than $2 at an Auto Parts Shop I have what seems a lifetime supply.
