Default NAD-- Boss Katana 50 watt....

I sent the Fender Mustang GT40 back today and bought the 50 watt Katana. HUGE difference in sound quality. The USB port hooked up right away to my Sonar program, no problem there. Much better amp.....I was up half the night watching You Tube videos about the Katana vrs the Fender.....Katana won big time. Now I know why, it just sounds sooo good.

I am surprised Fender did not pull the GT40 back to the drawing board given the Katana

Congratulations on your new Katana!
My music store friends think the sound quality is better.
I agree... and I wants one!

I watched that video last night, and decided first thing this morning to send the Fender back. Then I went up to Guitar Center and bought the Katana. Got home about 11:30. By 3:30 I was all up and running and my learning curve finished. I had the software mastered in no time. USB recording setup took about three minutes. But the really great feature of this amp is how good it sounds with my Tele...just perfect !!!!!!!!!! I have no regrets about making the switch.

I bought the 100w head and am having a blast with it! To be honest, this is the perfect bedroom amp with the built in 5" speaker. Have you installed the "Sneaky Amps" yet?

Ohhhhhhh...look it up brother! There is like another 25 amps that you can access with a specific patch... including a Marshall and a Mesa dual rectifier.

This is basically just a config file that allows you to access these other amps that were built in to the katana but haven't been published by boss because supposedly they weren't optimized. I think boss purposely did not put them out there so that they could leak this information and create a lot of Mystique and thinking that there's something cool that people have access to kind of under the table... hence the name sneaky amps. If you Google sneaky amps for Katana you will find the patch I think I found mine on the V guitar forum.

Lot of people are creating patches even for specific songs.

This is going to get fun.

Cheers...

Todd in Chicago

At first when I heard about this amp, I wasn't sure i'd like it. the software looked complicated, the effects looked confusing, just didn't know what to think about it. But now that I've had a chance to use it for a while, learned the software, heard the sounds....I love this amp....it's great !!!

The price isn't what matters to me. The sound is most important. This amp sounds great. Next up is that the software works really nice on my computer, that's fantastic. All in all it's a great amp.
