Oh No...A humidity problem with my X-20!!!
Well, I guess it was bound to happen...The humid environment in the Southern United States finally took it's toll on my beloved Emerald...After treating her with campouts, canoe trips, porch setting, & stomping in the occasional snow, She finally succumbed to the ragtag existence that I have put her through...sigh...
For the last 5 years She has been a faithful companion on my journey, and now I am in mourning...sniff...sniff...What is the Terrible and Fatal flaw that befell her you ask??? The last time I dusted her off with my garden hose...the paper sticker came off from the inside of my guitar!!! Eeeekkk... Now I know many of my friends here at the AGF feel my pain, so feel free to send me your condolences in the form of cash, money order, PayPal, or yes even with guitar strings... I'm pretty sure this will ease the terrible grief that I am feeling... Gotcha Didn't I??? LOL Gotta Love those Carbon Fibers!!!

I'm reminded of the original print ads for Rainsong back in the early 90's. A Hawaiian fellow was happily strumming his guitar while standing in the middle of a waterfall on Maui.

Hmmmm... maybe a carbon fiber tag inside the guitar would be in order?
I read with anticipation to see what the "punch line" would be... bet you put some lumps in the throats of those who have guitars on order! |

I intentionally removed the label from my X7 shortly after I received it many years ago. I keep it preserved in one of those "round" CD cases that are not so common.
My reason was just my personal aesthetics as my X7 is deep ruby red but the label was a light green and white. The color contrast was too great for my eyes and I found I preferred the all black interior. For me, a more neutral label color wouldn't have been noticed and I likely would have kept it there, I think. But at that time, the label placement was more visible through the sound hole when looking straight on than it appears to be today. I think today the label is placed a little deeper in the body now--more towards the center. Or maybe my guitar was an exception. Don't know. If I recall correctly, it came off nice and clean being affixed with something like a rubber cement. I held on to it in case I ever thought to sell the X7, figuring I would then put it back on. Now, years later, I can say the thought of selling didn't cross my mind again. |
