Default Darcy's Guitar by Pete Huttlinger (cover)

Hi All,

Here is my version of Pete Huttlinger's "Darcy's Guitar." I think I tend to play this song at a little faster tempo than Pete did and so my version seems to sound a little happier than Pete's. I learned this from one of Pete's instructional DVDs.

The guitar is my Collings OM1A, dread depth body. Strings are D'Addario EJ16.

Here is my version:

For reference, here is Pete telling the story behind the song and performing his version live:

Thank you for watching and commenting.

Thank you Barry! Is this a song you play? Glad you know the song... lately I seem to be picking stuff to record that nobody ever heard of except for Bojangles.

I used to, before the blues/ragtime bug bit me. I have his book "The Peter Huttlinger Collection." Lots of good tunes in it.

Hey Glen, nice job. I have it in my "arsenal" too.A while back, I was playing at a restaurant while on vacation, and a girl came up to me and asked if I played any songs that people knew. I said no because this way no one will know if I made a mistake or not! Pete

Cool! Thanks for watching and commenting Pete! How interesting that you have this song in your bag of tricks, too. This one is so ingrained in me, that I find myself playing it just to relax.

Enjoyed listening to that Glenn - nice 'bounce' in your playing, and I like the tone you're getting from the Collings. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, Rod. I do agree, that Collings OM1A with the dread depth body just has a very nice sound to it. And when I hit the E-string with that palm muted Travis pick, it really has a punch to it. Maybe "bounce" is a better word.

Thank you for listening and commenting!

Thank you Nailpicker! I always appreciate it when you listen and comment. I know that as an instrumental player you are listening with a particular ear.
