What strings for my new Parlour guitar?
Hi i have just won this guitar on ebay UK and was looking for advice on strings.
It is a 1980s takamine F312s Parlour based on the Martin 0-16NY? I like a clean sound but i'm open to suggestions with pros and cons. The guitar has a truss rod. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2511531330...84.m1439.l2649 I would love to own a used Martin but living in England they are few and far between. Thanks for a great forum. That's a sharp-looking guitar, GP. I'll agree with Bohemian. Try 11s--extra lights (but with a wound G).
I use Thomastiks on my parlour. But I do so because they seem to work best on my guitar. There are plentiful other choices in that gauge. You'll find one that works best on yours. It will sound good.

Here's my 1984 Takamine Bruno 1884 reproduction parlor. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/30/img1069k.jpg/
Limited production (150 made) solid cedar/rosewood. I experimented with several sets of strings of differing manufacture and found the Dean Markley Blue steel #2033 (11-52) to fit the bill nicely. Nice guitar, Blues |
