Thanks Michael, you know of course that both your Kostal MD, various videos and most of all your fantastic playing have consistently inspired me, and helped with some of my preferences.

Although, I have left the final choices in Jason's capable hands.

P.S: Still eagerly awaiting that CD release Michael!

I just love the simple elegance of this guitar, not to mention the awesome mahogany b&s.
Oh my! Looks incredible Roy! You must be thrilled!

Michael, your mahogany Kostal build thread has to rank there with one of the best ever! And if racman's is as good as yours as it's looking so far (along with ebony lined sides!) we're in for a special treat!

Hi Roy, I'm excited for you!! I can't wait to see the progress in this build. I'm a big Mahogany fan.

Hey Roy, stunningly beautiful. You are patient, but it looks to be well worth it. I can't wait to watch this one come together.

Do you know what type of wood has Jason used to laminate the rims? The inside looks quite dark. Is it an Ebony or African Blackwood?

I have no idea but will send him an e-mail an revert back with the answer.

I'm pretty sure it's linoleum.

did a smart search on JK + lining here - got this -

"I ask if the sides of my guitar will be lined with ebony -
he'll line them with the same wood as the sides which he normally does, in this case wenge. Apparently he wanted to control some of the tones given by the mahogany b/s that he didn't want... hence the ebony."

going by this it seems Ebony inner sides mechanically filters 'tones' from a hog b/s guitar.

I like the look of ebony in there - prettier

It's my pleasure! The album is ever closer... I can almost touch it... finalising artwork now and then it's just some more admin...
