You should first pay attention to getting a hydrometer and knowing when the humidity is too high and the guitar should go in its case.
Or use other 'high' humidity approaches, which Im actually interested in also ...anyone ? Dont really on indicators like action is too high, you should not let it get like that in the first place.

I think I would be taking a carbon fibre guitar...

If it's a solid wood guitar it will gain moisture, the action will probably go up and you may be able to detect a loss of tone.
Laminated guitars will gain moisture and lose tone but will tend to retain their shape. Carbon fiber will be virtually unaffected by high humidity AFAIK. I haven't read of any permanent damage from high humidity. My own wooden guitars go through a very high humidity cycle each summer with no apparent damage. Ideally, keep your guitar in 40% to 60% relative humidity by using air conditioning or a dehumidifier. Get a hygrometer to keep track of the humidity. Keeping your instrument in its case can't hurt but if everything is at high humidity it won't do any good either. Dessicant packs don't have the capacity to deal with the large volumes of moisture you will be faced with.
