Both of the Martins I have owned, the SWDGT and the HD-28 liked 80/20s over PBs and nickel brozne. The 80/20s just give them some extra zing that sounds really nice. Everything else I put PBs on by default but I experiments with other strings just in case, I used PBs on a HD-28 for years and it sounded great buit it just really came alive the first time I put 80/20s on it.

I don't put 80/20s on anything. That doesn't mean that they are bad sounding strings. They just don't suit me.

I use 80/20's on my Yairi Slope. It's a rosewood 12-fret, and it has a very chocolatey, velvety low end with PB's, and I use the 80/20's to sort of lighten it up a shade.
Still has plenty of depth, though.

My personal preference on most of my guitars are PB string formulations, and I particularly like D'Addario EJ16 and John Pearse PB light strings.

However, on a couple of my guitars which tend to be a little darker, I use Martin SP 80/20 light strings. In particular, my Olson SJ (cedar/EIR) and my Martin 000-28VS (which is a 12-fret, elongated body design from the 1930s, sitka/EIR), the 80/20 strings add a little treble sparkle that helps balance out these guitars a little more for my tastes.

Generally I like 80/20s on Rosewood-backed guitars.

Used PB on my 76 Larrivee L-09 for over 30 years. I now use 80/20's. Still lush, but a bit more clarity without the metallic sizzle of PB.

I have 80/20 Elixir nanos on my 456ce right now, I like them better than the PB Elixir nanos it came with. To my ears PB Elixirs sound pretty dead and dark on any guitar, and the 80/20 are brighter and more balanced. I don't think I've ever tried non-coated 80/20s from other manufacturers, never felt a reason to. What we like best may depend somewhat on the age of our ears, since as we get older our hearing frequency response shifts to lower frequencies.

I use Martin 80/20s on my Yamaha LL16. Another EIR guitar that sounds better to my ear with the 80/20s. They sound pretty harsh for a few days but then settle in nicely and last a couple months. PBs sound too muddy. I've tried Ernie Ball 80/20s on it and didn't like them though...

Any guitar whose sound I want to ruin by making it harshly metallic and jangly

(I'm a PB guy)

I presently have these Galli 80/20 Extra Light strings on my Emerald X7 and X20 carbon fiber guitars.
Wonderful tone on both guitars and no string squeak due to the flat wound winding.
I searched along time for these strings, and will continue to use'em, as long as I can get'em.

My Eastman E20OM-SB is a little darker sounding (it's only <6mos. old), so I switch it up with a set of 80/20s, and the sound jumps to life. I'm still experimenting with brands (I have D'Addario EJ11 on it now).

High five!
