Default Where to buy 7-string guitar sets?

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 7-string acoustic guitar and I'm wondering where others with 7-strings buy their strings?
There seem to be few options for 7-string acoustic sets, and finding strings individually seems rather difficult too (and not an option for many varieties).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm unaware of any. I just buy my 6 string set of choice and add a .070.

I don't have a 7-string, but the specialized string vendors seem to have a wide variety of singles:

By comparison, MF has a limited selection.

I second s2y's response. Been playing acoustic 7-string guitar(s) for 15 years. No string sets for that. The 7th, well D'Addario and John Pearse offer .70 in PB. That's about it. D'Addario and GHS if you go to nickel, and then more gauges to choose from. FWIW, I've found the D'Add 70 works fine, but the color doesn't always match the rest of the set, depending on what I'm trying. That may or may not offend people in the audience <gr>....

Stringjoy will make anything you need. Great source for custom string sets.

Where do you find your 0.7 single strings?

15 years? Who made yours?

I had never seen a 7 string acoustic in person until I ordered mine. I'll likely order another at some point since I went a little too extreme with the fan because I got a little cocky.

Regardless, I found the D'Addario to be fine, but mine is fanned to 27" on the B string. I'm not sure how it would sound at 25.5" scale.

Juststrings. com only offers this as a 7 string acoustic set.

http://www.juststrings.com/drs-zae-10-7.html

This is way too light for an acoustic. I ended up buying a .070 and using a 6 string set. My guitar came with a .068 and I had to widen the slot in the bridge pin for the 7th string, but I like the sound of the heavier string and plan to go even heavier. I bought D'Addario EXPPB070 coated strings. I hope the coated 7th will last long enough to keep it through my next string change for the other 6.

27 to 25.5 is what my guitar is as well. I think it just has a 0.660 on it now (or so I'm told; I just got it) but I think that I want to go to at least 0.70, maybe heavier if it's available....

Yeah I think you are right. I would want at least 0.70 on the 7th I think, in particular since it's a 27" scale. I tune the lowest string to Ab as well, which is all the more reason why heavier is better. As long as it works on my guitar that is....
