Hi guys. Been lurking for a while, but first time posting. Need some friendly advice!

I'm thinking of getting out and playing solo acoustic gigs after playing in a few bands over the years. I thought having a YouTube channel to show potential venues/booking agents would be a good idea.

I'm playing an Alvarez AD60-CKU, and using an MXL 990 and 991 into my TASCAM 4-track. What do you guys think of the audio, presentation, and overall performance?

That's a great cover of a great song!

If you can play and sing like that on stage, and if you have about 1-2 hours of material, I think you should be able to make a bit of money on the side doing gigs.

Youtube is a great place to put a lot of your songs. If you want to have a free website, Blogger by Google is definitely worth it. Having a blog means you can organize your songs from youtube, post upcoming venue dates, and provide contact information to potential gigs. Then, if you combine that with a facebook page, you'll be set my friend!

Good luck to your endeavors, perhaps I'll have the honor of listening to you sometime in a gig.

Welcome to the forum Corey. Both your singing and playing are what I'd consider top shelf, played with feeling...So I'd say follow your dream and make it happen. That's a great old song and your version is very well done.
