Default local bluegrass festival fun

Yesterday I went to the new Temecula BG festival. This is the Inland Empire east of Los Angeles. It used to be downtown but is now in the hills east of town. Very nice covered venues all over the property. Several jams going on in the afternoon. As it is sort of a new festival surviving its 2015 demise it was sparsely attended so anyone that wanted to could sit in front and actually see the musicians and talk to them afterwards. What a lot of fun listening and talking to the musicians and attendees. There was limited food options, sausage or Mexican so Im hoping they are able to attract a variety of vendors for next year. Oh and the weather was perfect.

I live about 20 minutes from there, but had previous commitments that prevented me from going.

Of course, I can hear the banjos from my back porch !

Wish I could have gone but worked all day. I'm in the San Gabriel Valley (not far from the Eastman headquarters). Sounds like a lot of fun!

http://temeculabluegrass.com/

An interesting tidbit, the Southern CA Bluegrass *** had a booth there and among the things that were offered was one of the new Taylor student guitars maybe a Academy 10e and a Martin D18. I suppose they had contacted the companies for a donation to support music in school. So they were raffling these off and I was shocked by the difference between the two guitars. As you can guess I bought several tickets.

As far as food you had to like Mexican food but there was shave ice and girls selling water. I think maybe someone was selling ice cream.
