Picked what I thought were the best two pieces of my maple board and made a front panel blank this week. Rough cut them, jointed and faced them, then glued them together. Today, I removed the clamps, chiseled off the excess glue, then flattened one face. It's been a busy week for me, so my next weekend I'll run them through the planer to bring it down to 3/4", then size it and make the cutout for the amp control panel.

It's raining, so I've got some free shop time today. Cut the front panel today and test fit it. Everything looks to be fitting up nice and square, so I'm going to glue up the sides of the box today and true up a couple of my cutout area cuts while that dries. Give them a little personal attention with a sharp chisel to get to the final size and shape, basically.

Couple of coats of Danish Oil, and I'm waiting to wipe it dry now. While it's inside drying, I can do the final trimming on my front panel. Only holdup now is I sat down on the couch and had both the pups snuggle up against me.

Nice!

When my hobbies collide, I just end up with bearnaise on my fretboard.

All done, until my faceplate gets done.

To be determined. I'm working with the engraver on design currently. Nothing fancy, but I need the text to be readable and correctly placed.
