The Recording King RP-06 soundhole pickup recommendation?
Hello,
I can get a good deal on a RK RP-06 parlor guitar and i want to get a affordable soundhole pickup. I can't find any info on the size of the hole on rp-06 so if anybody knows please let me know... but i'm pretty sure it's smaller then normal sized soundholes. i was thinking of getting Seymour Duncan Woody but it only can fit standard soundholes (94mm to 100mm) and i don't know if it will fit on rp-06? Also any recommendation for other not so expensive soundhole pickups? (i don't want to drill or glue anything on the guitar so thats why i want soundhole pickup). Thanks |

A Fishman Pro-NEO-DO1 pick-up was already installed in a Washburn parlor guitar I bought. I think it offers pretty good sound for a $40 pick-up

I have an RP-06 and it has a standard size soundhole. I'd go for a Baggs M1 personally.

My preference is a D'Marzio "The Angel", more open sounding to my ear, the passive model has a fair amount of output and still has a clear sound.

Are you sure that is a standard soundhole?
cause i found an review of rp-06 and the guy who did the review measured 3"5/8 and that is i guess 91-92mm...and thats smaller so i don't know if it will fit woody. also i would personally also go for baggs m1 but its more expensive than the guitar itself so thats the reason i want a good but cheap soundhole pickup for this project...good cheap guitar with good cheap pickup with good not so cheap results (hopefully). Also that fishman is good but i can't find it for that price in Europe.I was watching also Shadow pickups and dean markley offerings but dont know anything about them...any good? And thanks for the quick reply! If anybody else has some suggestions, please do tell. |

That would be awesome...thank you very much!
also dimarzio is great but pricey.fishman rare earth is great since it can fit on 92mm soundhole but also pricey at 180 euros. The hunt continues. |

Fishman Neo-D could be a sensible choice for such a guitar, but 98.4 mm at least.

In Europe I find an artec soundhole pickup at a low price on Amazon, the model MSP 50. Very good passive pickup for the price.

I'm not Mike but I just measured my rp-06 at 3 5/8's. I don't have a full size guitar here to compare. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much mr. Jack R!
i think i found a pickup that could be good for rp-06 soundhole...Dimarzio visual acoustic dp138.it has good reviews and it has a solid price tag. It says that pickup can be mounted on a soundhole of 3"11/16 thats pretty close to 3"5/8 if i'm not mistaken (92mm vs 93mm) Also for the owners of rp-06...should i order grover sta tites tuners or will the stock ones hold the tuning well when playing? |

I put sta-tites on both my rp-06 and ros-06. better made and smoother operation. Direct replacement. Same screw holes. Very slight cleanout of post hole with drill bit (by hand) required.
