Default Grande Guitar

I was wondering if someone could help me identify a used guitar I bought. I was thinking of giving to my stepson, but I was wondering if it is unusal or common. Physically it looks fine.

The name on the inside and outside of the guitar is "Grande". Only "Grande". The letter e has an accent mark. Also inside is the model number "F90" and the lable printing "Distributed by Leigh Distributing Co. Minneapolis, Minn. Made in Japan" .

I looked everywhere on the internet to gather information, but was unsuccessful. The only thing I could find was an eBay listing for a Suzuki model F90 that looks very, very similar to my "Grande".

I want to say that I know very little about guitars. So any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum, SWF. Can you post any pics? That would help us a lot. I, myself, have no knowledge of Grande; however, there are some great folks here who will help you.

Some things that may help - do you know how old it is? When / how did you acquire it?

Good luck!

Default Attaching Photos

Thanks for the reply,

I have some photos but can't see how they can be attached. I see "Insert Image", but when clicked they look for a URL. Is there another way to attach?

Here are some photos. I realize that it needs at least one new string. Hope they help.

Grande guitars were imported into the US and made by Yamaki. I have a small collection of Yamakis. Your Grande is very similar to my Yamaki AY331. Yamakis were only built between 1970-80. Search Yamaki on the net and you'll see the similarity.

I would say that yours is 1973-4 because the truss rod adjustment is on the headstock. Truss rod adjustment moved into the sound hole in 1974. Yours is entry level like my 331 so is likely all laminate. But they are well built, nice sounding guitars.Hope this helps!
