Default Offset rock-a-billy archtop "Showdown" complete.

In between repairs, some other builds, and changing dirty diapers, I’ve been working on a rock-a-billy guitar. Some features:

Offset design
25” scale
16” lower bout
21.5” long
Gretsch style trestle bracing
Grestch style electronics
Bigsby
Eastern Maple

So far I've fit the parallel braces on the top but they are not glued yet. In some of the pictures the top looks off center in relation to the sides and mold. It's not glued on yet and it's just positioned off center in the photo. The back is carved and I will sand that this weekend. I'm going to give those trestle braces a go next week sometime but my two flat-tops are finished curing and ready for bridges, saddles, nuts, dressings and setups so this might take a seat on the bench for the next two weeks or so.

I made a little more headway on this guitar while routing a batch of necks for trussrods, carbon fiber and fingerboard indexing. Going to try and get the ears glued in and surface the headstock next.

Revisiting this guitar after some time away and made some headway this week in between my Eagles Super Bowl orgasms. After fitting the laminated spruce trestles, I got the box closed up and bound with a simple ABS white. Next is a little more recurve shaping and arch sanding before routing the dovetail mortise.

Changes*
I changed the scale length to 24.75”
I’ve decided to go candy apple red with gold hardware.

I know you already said, "Gretsch" style electronics but, man if this thing had P-90s...I might not be able to survive the night....

Almost finished the arching. I took some photos while the luthier light was at peak hour. Got the faceplate on today too.
