Default So, A Big Box Got Delivered Today..

Couldn't figure what it was as I hadn't ordered anything recently. The label indicated it was some of my retirement stuff but the box was 8-10 times too big.

Anyway, it was my retirement stuff. Got my retirement watch.

Has to be the biggest watch I ever owned, the thing is huge. Probably take me years to figure how to work all the dials.

Got my gold lapel pin, I guess for attending any future company functions.

And, at the bottom of the big box was the reason for the size of the carton, a certificate signed by the CEO framed behind glass.

I am supposed to go to the department Christmas Party next week so I can tell everybody how much more enjoyable retirement is to working.

Congratulations Harry. I hope you're enjoying retirement. I retired a week ago. So far, no boxes of any size have come my way, but I don't mind a bit. Just happy to be out of there.

Congrats on your retirement. My wife is there too as of mid-January, just a few weeks from now. No gold watch, though.

We get endless amusement from packaging. She ordered two pairs of Smart Wool socks recently. Each came shipped separately in boxes big enough for a desktop computer?? Socks are not exactly fragile, so an envelope (padded or not) would have been sufficient. Makes almost as much sense as air fares.....

Congrats on the retirement!

Maybe they picked up some packaging tips here at the AGF, after all we've got a lot of experience shipping precious cargo and that watch sure looks like it qualifies as precious!

Nice gift!

Enjoy the more music you will now have time to play!

Now you have all the guitar time you want! After 40 years of working I am enjoying that myself.
Congrats on your milestone and the new gemstones.

I’m not into watches, but if I was, that’s one that appeals to me. Congrats, Harry, on the milestone and passing through the gateway to freedom and adventure.

Congrats, Harry. I have about a month to go, and then I, too, am done with my day gig.

I doubt that I'll be needing a watch. I am confident my wife will tell me what to do and when.

Congrats on the retirement - it really is the best job in the world.

I could do with a big watch so I could actually see the hands without glasses but alas, when I retired I didn't even get a big box to play in.

Congrats on your retirement and recognition of same!

What are you planning to do to keep yourself feisty and on your toes? My dad bought an older Hatteras sportfishing yacht.

All the attention it constantly needs has been great for keeping him actively engaged in physical activity pretty much always.

Alas, I won't be 65 for 28 years - so I've got at least 70,000 working hours left to clock before I have any hope of retiring.

Wish me luck...

Be surprised how fast it comes on you. Got a closet full of instruments to play and plan to revive my long deferred love of fly fishing.

Harry,
Did you let the box acclimate for 24 hours prior to opening it?

That’s a fine looking watch. Congrats on reaching the other side.

Cheers
Jimmy

Cool watch! I bet you Dr. Who doesn't even have something that fancy.

Are you going to tonerite your new watch so that it keeps time evenly?
