Here is Pete's #5 Flamed Redwood/ Claro Walnut

i just strung it up about and hour ago, and let me just say that is sounds GOOD! i was skeptical at first seeing how i had read so much as to why people didn't build with curly redwood and how it was prone to collapse due to the run out and inadequate stiffness that comes along with that. I took several measures to help the top stiffen up a bit, but not compromising the sound of it. I braced it and voiced it as i would do with any other spruce top. In the end, it payed off, probably my favorite sounding of the first 5 guitars i have built...Very nice bass response, and it is only about 4-1/8" at the thickest...very clear and balanced as well. I will try to get a video of the guitar and post a link here in the next day or so. still need to add the finishing touches, but with out further a due here she is.

Thanks for looking

Jonathan

That really is a work of art! Not sure if I asked this, but do you do bevels and such? Some builders like them, others, not as much. Can't wait to hear Pru's impressions!!
