Forget the bags, use this:
https://www.amazon.com/OnStage-CW-6-...s%2C226&sr=8-5 Admittedly, it is a stupid amount of money for what it is. But I've been gigging with this on my mic stand for years, not to mention my mic stand also has a small holder for my ipad. Despite the added weight (higher up) of the ipad/holder, this weight at the bottom of the stand keeps it all rock solid without fear! Highly recommended! Edward |

Thanks! Folks have given me some great options. We had a band rehearsal at the local cinema on Tuesday and I asked if the venue had a heavy round bottom mic' stand. The manager remembered seeing one and found it in a store room under the stage. The cinema was built in 1895 and the store room is an Aladin's cave! The stand was cast iron with a logo in the casting, but I couldn't work out the logo. Anyway, it worked perfectly for the small bar room stage. So I'm sorted out for the next gig and can wait for the January sales to try and find one of my own.

Glad you've found something that works. I must have given mine away back in the day when I quit playing in bars where they were occasionally needed as defensive weapons.
