YouTube won't play. Flash Player issue?
OK, so I've been home sick and today is the first day I've done much on the home iMac. A FlashPlayer update comes up, I go through all the motions, thing nothing of it. Then this afternoon, I decide to check out some YouTube videos. Not a single thing will play. Some of the lead-in ads will play, some only partially, but every single video tells me that an error has occurred.
Did something just happen to YouTube, period? It was working fine for me back on Monday night, before I came down with 3-1/2 days of the "mizries." Or could the new "fix" for FlashPlayer actually have broken my ability to play vids? I do seem to recall something similar happening a year or so back (not sure if it was with FlashPlayer) that I had to de-install before YouTube started playing again. Anyone else having problems? I'm still too darn groggy to be truly coherent, I'm sure, but I'm not gonna be a happy camper until this gets fixed. Any help gratefully received. Dirk |

Here's what I would suggest, in order:
1. Reboot your Mac and try again 2. Try a different browser 3. Try tomorrow in case it's some weird temporary network issue 4. https://forums.adobe.com/message/4487439 Using OS X Yoesmite and Firefox here with no problems. |

How are videos on other places: Vimeo, CNN, etc.? Try uninstalling Flash completely and then reinstalling.
You can set Youtube to play videos with HTML5 when possible, and avoid Flash: see https://www.youtube.com/html5. Anything else strange going on? I would just make sure you installed a real Flash Player. Go here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and make sure the versions match up. |

Thanks for the replies.
I'll give these suggestions a go tomorrow...when hopefully my brain is a bit more alert. Cheers, Dirk |
