I wrote the beggining of this song in open d. playing the same thing in standard tuning sounded cooler to me and i built from there. Hope you enjoy

Interesting that you'd start out in open-D tuning and end up in standard tuning playing in A.

I like the sound of the song. It could stand some embellishment here and there. I liked the progressing leading to the ending. Nice touch. It didn't just end, it sounded like it was ending.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it...the melody changed completely in standard tuning. That A major chord pattern in open D was a D9 something or other. Sounded happier. I'll mess around with the arrangement and see if i can add some more

The "open" parts were where you went from picking to strumming. Like driving on a winding road and then out on to a straight, flat road. That's where I found there to be something missing. But that all depends on what you were trying to achieve, like the winding to flat road analogy.

Given the melody, I think it's better in standard major chords. I think I'd reserve any 9ths, etc. to flavoring it instead of dominating it, if that makes sense.

Ya i feel you. Maybe i'll get an A harmonica and use it for the strumming parts...or just write lyrics.
