Default Grand Auditorum hard case

Will a Taylor X14 GA fit in a Washburn GCGADLX case? I love Taylor gear, but $199 is an awful high price for a case!

Great deal on that one from Todd. I bought the same case from a former member a few years back to upgrade from the "monkey butt" case that came with my 2003 714ce-LTD Summer Strummer. No regrets.

Bumping this up again - Todd's offer was a bit more than I want to spend, as this case will be principally for keeping the guitar humidified, rather than for transporting.
2 different Washburn cases and a Gator all listed as 'Grand Auditorium' size on reverb.com.

Before I fly for the first time with my Taylor 414ce, I'm totally getting this SKB unless of course there's a case out there that offers even more protection?

I noticed that Sweetwater has the Washburn cases - new- for the same price as the ones on Reverb, so I may call them up to check fit and order from them (but will wait until Christmas, in case I get a Sweetwater gift card for a present!)

Bumping this up again.
Had a local guy who had 2 cases for a classical guitar. My 114ce-N didn't fit in either.
Then a local music store guy said he had one or two choices (this was from a post on a facebook group). Nope, nothing fit.

Actually, my '2 sponge device' method has kept the guitar humidified despite the cold dry weather here.

Default a soft case

Until you find one, try and put it, soft case and all, inside a plastic bag - that should hold the moisture in better than a soft case can do by itself. And you won't be out much mazoomey in the process.

My Taylor GA's fit just fine in any dreadnought case that I've tried, brand name or generic. GA's have very close to the same lower bout width, body length and overall length as a dreadnought.

But if all you want to do is control humidity, Bard's trash bag idea works as well as anything. I've used trash bags with damp towels inside to re-humidify seriously dried out instruments in their gig bags. The hard part is finding one long enough to hold a gig bag or hard case. Maybe a dry cleaner? Trash compactor bags are heavy duty, and two overlapping each other lengthwise would work, helped out by a little duct tape to seal them up better.

Oh, it fits, but is loose in there - last thing I'd want is it sliding around banging against the sides when it gets moved around.
