In an interesting twist to this thread, Joel will actually be moving out to Montreal at the end of next month and joining my shop! Joel was out in Montreal this past winter and had a chance to visit the coop (Mile End Guitar Coop) and really liked what he saw and started dreaming about spending some time building out here. With a bit of lucky timing we had a bench space open up and Joel is planning on spending at least 8 months here. We've got a great space and community going (currently 9 luthiers) and we're all excited to add Joel to the mix!

Mike

It's been noted that Joel enjoys rock climbing. He has been on a late summer vacation and sent me a few pictures of his trip.

Not sure where this is, somewhere in the North/West US.

The second pic looks like the hike up Half Dome in Yosemite.

Yep. Along with the smoke. The Railroad Fire was burning just a few miles away as the crow flies last week and the week before.

Wow... One of the nicest sets of Braz I've seen that's not currently on a guitar. Congrats on getting to visit Joel's shop. I enjoy seeing him at the shows and his guitars are always superb. Can't wait to see what he builds at the mile-end shop. I have several guitars from different builders in that shop and they ALL have a special vibe.
