Default Emerald Guitars present First Impressions with legendary Irish musician/actor

Dear All,

Last weekend we met legendary Irish singer, songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player Don Baker and his collaborator Clara Rose in the first of a new series, Emerald Guitars presents First Impressions.

Filmed on location in the Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey, Co Donegal, Ireland, Don gives us his first impression of our Emerald Guitars X20 Artisan Woody (featuring a Quilted Maple veneer), followed by a wonderful performance (Creole Belle) and interview alongside Clara Rose.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpcULDQ8P-0

Not only a top class musician with nearly five decades of experience, Dublin native Don is also a well-known actor, having been part of Ireland’s leading soap opera, Fair City (RTÉ), for over a decade, and notable appearances in movies such as Jim Sheridan’s In The Name Of The Father.

Clara Rose is an Irish female roots/blues artist with a voice that will make the hairs stand on the back of your neck who has been writing and performing her original music for 10 years. She has shared stages with Celtic legends such as Horslips, Henry McCullough, The Waterboys, Eleanor McEvoy, John Spillane, Jack L and more recently collaborated with Don on the album Baker Rose which is available on http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bakerrose2

We love being able to support the arts community with videos like this and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it!

Best Wishes

Sean

You are very welcome Tom!

It was great meeting Don, and Clara Rose. Don is a man held in high regard in both the Irish music world and acting, having played roles opposite big name actors such as Daniel Day Lewis in In The Name Of The Father. He is an incredible talent and we hope to have him in our studio again soon, as well as further talent to check out our guitars.

Best Wishes

Sean

I love what Emerald is doing with this Emerald Guitar Presents...and the upcoming Road Show. Brilliant, innovative business strategy that so wonderfully reaches-out to music lovers generally, as well as existing and potential customers. I am proud to own and love my Emerald! I hope to one day visit the beautiful workplace in Donegal.

I'd compliment you on your videos, They are very well made and produced, very well thought out. I haven't converted to Carbonism yet but you may well yet talk me into it.

Unrelated question. Wasn't there an Irish banjo maker also called Emerald? I seem to recall looking at their tenors and they had an actual emerald inlaid into the headstock.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback HHP, we really appreciate your check out our videos and are delighted to hear you enjoy them!

We are certainly aware of Emerald Banjos, who are based in County Claire here in Ireland. We have not had the pleasure of meeting them, but their banjos certainly do look beautiful!

Best Wishes,
