Judy Collins version of 'Someday Soon' has got the terrific interplay between Buddy Emmons on steel guitar and James Burton on Telecaster. Plus Glen D. Hardin on piano & Stephen Stills on bass. Just a classic version.

That being said, Judy still does that folksinger thing where you don't have to nail all the words, just get close most of the time.

Suzy Bogguss does a smooth, perfect version. I can handle both of these ladies doing 'Someday Soon.' Possibly the best cowboy song ever written. I don't think Suzy's version would be like it is if Judy hadn't done it first. Suzy makes it her own, but pays homage to Judy at the same time.

This is a good bunch of people here.

Personally, I think all this witty humor is a reflection of the fact that there are a lot of really smart people here.

(Having said this, I will add that I don't think my posts tend to be particularly funny!).

Personally, I think the guy who cracks me up the most is LongJon (sorry for bringing you up again LongJon)! He is often just hilarious, often in very few words.

There are also a LOT of really awesome musicians here (along with guitar builders, guitar repair people, etc, etc), which I find pretty humbling. I am humbled almost every time I visit someone's YouTube or SoundCloud page.

And I think one of the best things about this place is that you don't normally have people getting annoyed if you ask a question that has already been asked and answered multiple times. You rarely have people snapping back with "do a search before wasting our time" of some such comments, which are all too frequent on, say, some of the photography forums. The philosophy here is that we are here to have conversations, and every question is meaningful and new to the person who asked it, and talking about it is better than just searching through past conversations that may or may not have dealt with our exact question. For example, I have seen Larry (ljguitar) give really useful, detailed, helpful answers to questions about capos, or about how to play barre chords (usually with photos and sometimes even videos), and other topics, many times, each time as though this was the first time the question had ever been asked.

This is a special place.
What do you expect on photography forums ?

Ah, but those are forums with really serious photographers, where members would balk at the suggestion that they were just snapping pictures!

Thanks!
Complimenting the boys on how funny they are will get you in their good graces. If you had added the word "boobies" you'd be up to 8 or 9 pages by now.

Okay, it's not just one line, but her thread is funny and has TONS of potential. Way to go Ms. ChickenOverlord
