A few of my favorites from Gordon Lightfoot....

"It's so nice to meet an old friend and pass the time of day, and talk about the home town a million miles away"

"At times I just don't know how you could be anything but beautiful"

"He was standing by the highway, with a sign that just said 'Mother', when he heard a driver coming, about a half a mile away"

Rush YYZ , on acoustic I don't think I can say there's one that stands out as Earth moving compared to others . I like acoustic so much nothing on its own stands out sounds kind of crazy I know but I feel it's a complete song that will move me acoustically then a intro .
It's like sci fi movies I love them all bad and good haha

Edit , k missed the topic referring to lyrical line my bad and I don't one that comes to mind .

Default Best opening line(s)

I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him where are you goin'?
And this he told me

I'm goin down to Yasgur's farm
Gonna join in a rock and roll band
I'm gonna camp out on the land
Try and get my soul free

Joni Mitchell

He came dancing across the water with his galleons and guns
Looking for the new world in that palace in the sun...

Tell ya what ... that first line of that Patty Smith song from the mid 70s was a real corker.

Once I was young, and so unsure
I'd try any ill, to find the cure.

The end of October, the sleepy brown woods seem to
nod down their heads, to the winter
