Peggy O
Although written by Bob Dylan. Peggy O came to me from Jerry Garcia and the band Grateful Dead.
If you want to see an amazing moment in his time .. captured in 1994 in Las Vegas NV. "This one is all Jerry, frail yet strong and full of emotion. In my opinion, the solo alone is possibly one of the most poetic of Jerry's later years. " (sadly he passed a year later in '95). Search Youtube for "Grateful Dead - Peggy O - 6-26-94" ... Thank you Jerry. Oh my my...... https://soundcloud.com/midnight_rider_music/peggy-o |

Real nice Jake. Is that your Larivee? Big sound.
Jerry does look frail. Must have been real hot to put him in shorts. Love it when he plays finger style. |

I was at the show in Vegas that year... Late June at UNLV Sam Boyd Silver Bowl Stadium. Traffic was the opening act too! .... I am not a huge fan of Stadium shows and early Summer heat is a kill joy. But I was with my friends and my brother (we all traveled there from CA, OR and WA) and we had a wonderful time! Plus it was crazy after the shows (there were 3 shows in a row Fri-Sun and we went to all 3!) .... Cool times too... hitting the Strip and playing games at the Paris Hotel where we were staying. It was a trip to see all the Dead heads and kids up and down the strip and casinos ... Mingling with the 'Reg folks'. But everyone "behaved"! |

Thanks for another nice post. Old favorite song of mine. Did read that it is an old Scottish folk song that was played by Dylan but not a Dylan original. Love his version and it introduced me to the song. Please keep em coming.
