Default Jim Worland Update

I'm sure at least a few of you know of Jim Worland, a versatile luthier who has done many acoustic, electric, harp and cigar box guitars. He moved out of his Illinois home about three years ago, and now is based in the Los Angeles area.

He has been working on my custom OM, but has recently undergone an emergency surgery about two weeks ago, and is in the recovery process. It may take him another few weeks before he's recovered enough to return to work. Obviously, the work on my guitar is delayed, but I am willing to wait a little longer to be rewarded with a great-sounding instrument he's known for, and here's hoping he'll come back to make many more for years to come.

I'm going to forward him this link, so if you want to wish him well, please do so. I'm sure he'll appreciate it. (Yes, he gave me permission to post this.)

Jim used to live about an hour up the road here in the Midwest, and I have been admiring his work for some time. His affordable line of "Prairie model" guitars may be among the best bang for the buck out there. I have resisted substantial temptation to pull the trigger on this one:

Get well Jim!

I've seen photos of some of Jim Worlands guitars,
this one in particular is amazing

I've been admiring photo's of the work he's doing with Scott Holloway on building the new Dyer harp guitars.

Jim, wishing you a complete and quick recovery,
would like to pay you a visit at your shop sometime.

Just an update.

He spent a few weeks of recovery, but is now back at his shop, frantically trying to finish up his current projects (including mine).

He may have to move out of his current shop in about a month (as the place he's renting is going through some restructuring), and it might take him several months afterwards to find a new place to get going again.
