Default How to Bluegrass - Strings for a Mahogany Top Guitar

Heya,

Mainly a mandolin player here. I play lots of fingerstyle too, in the style of Fahey, Jack Rose, etc. For this reason, my main axe is a 000-15m, and lately, I've been taking a flatpick to it. I've seen previous posts that touch on this, but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some strings that might bluegrass up this guitar - I'm looking for volume, projection, and cut.

Before you ask, I am perfectly satisfied with my choice of pick - John Pearse Buffalo Horn.

Might try Martin Retro Monels. They are a loud, punchy string that might help with cutting through. There's only so much you can do in that context with a 000 body size But the Monels will probably help.
