Acoustic 12 String collaboration with Rock Guitarist from Italy
This is a collaboration with a Soundcloud member, Roberto Ricco, who is based in Italy. I supplied the basic 12 string guitar part and Roberto built upon it doing all the bass, drums, keyboards, and electric guitars. His lead playing is phenomenal.
Hope you like it! https://soundcloud.com/rich-obrien/a...-roberto-ricco

Rich,
I lost the 12 string part of this in the mix and it sounds like Mr. Ricco took the opportunity to use it as a scratch track for his own work. Seriously don't hear the 12 string embodiment in this so I'd have to question the true collaboration. And, Mr Ricco's work sounds a lot like MIDI and of a type of music that I would not normally listen to so I can't objectively critique the melody and style. I have a similar piece (song) where the other guy plays the bass, lead and sings harmony but leaves the acoustic guitar I provide intact throughout as the underlying rhythm in the song. Mr. Ricco has taken creative license to drown you out completely, IMHO. |

12 String Collaboration
Mason,
Thanks for your comments. After listening again, I think we'll bring the 12 string up in the mix. Since it is my guitar part I can hear it clearly, but I can see how someone else might not. There are all forms of collaboration and not all are 50/50. This was never intended to be that way, since I did only one part and Roberto did all the rest, but I did supply the primary musical idea. However, I appreciate your comments and we'll adjust the mix. Best Regards, Rich
