Who is into Ukulele?
Just wondering.
I'm a big fan of the ukulele! I have several! A Kamaka (70s) Takamine Tenor, Lanikai Concert size and a Hilo and one that I made from a build it yourself kit my wife bought me. Fun times! Here's a playlist of some of my lessons and performances on the ukulele. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...TvnesCdK5gqzGr |

Big fan.
Kala soprano, concert, tenor, resonator tenor, baritone, Kala/Waterman travel uke, and Gold Tone banjo uke. In the market for others. The current popularity of ukulele has added some variety to my lesson business, many students doubling on ukulele and something else. I love to take a uke with me when I travel. |

I am! I bought one some years ago on a whim and it collected dust for a while. I finally started in with it this year and I'm having fun learning some new songs and bringing over songs I like to play on guitar. I have a Pono tenor, a couple of long-neck sopranos (Kala and aNueNue), and a handful of basic ukes I painted with Bob's Burgers characters.

Ukuleles a certainly a bunch of fun. I bought a Fluke concert to keep in my trailer, but liked uke so much I bought a Pono MT tenor with pickups.
I'm finding it adds to my guitar recordings and it's surprisingly versatile. You can get a nice clawhammer banjo vibe going if your G is strung high. Get out a flatpick and do those mandolin fills. Same basic range there. Of course you can play Hawaiian and 20s standards too. Possibilities are endless.

Huge fan of ukulele here.
I've got a vintage Martin style 0 soprano, a Collings UC2 concert, and took delivery this summer of an all Koa Marc Beneteau tenor. The Collings and the Beneteau are my regular players, the Martin gets played occasionally. Ukes can be great instruments, unfortunately the vast majority of people don't get to experience good ones.

I like 'em too, particularly their portability. Sometimes when I travel I'll take a uke instead of a guitar, knowing that it can stay in my possession wherever I go. And they tend to be more of a conversation starter than a guitar. I have four, a David Gill mahogany concert, a KoAloha concert, a vintage Gibson mahogany tenor, and a James Curtis koa/cedar tenor.

Nashville Ukulele
Hi, Lance,
I have always enjoyed your demonstrations of guitars that I hear on the Guitar Gallery web site, but I did not know you were into ukulele also. I have played and traded many ukuleles trying to find "the one" but right now my favorite to play is my Boat Paddle made in Missouri. I loved the new Takamine tenors I saw at the summer NAMM--wish it had been a tad less noisy there so I could have actually heard them. Did you see the feature about the Nashville Ukulele Society in the winter issue of Ukulele Magazine? |

My younger sister got me into uke's around six months ago and I've really enjoyed them. Bought myself a Kala mahogany tenor and have been playing with it ever since. Even took it on my last cruise (a week ago) instead of my usual guitar.

Just purchased my first last Friday... Sad to say - imported - but it plays and sounds great. Bought a Riptide baritone from Evans @ Red Lotus Music in Newport, OR. We were down there for my birthday.

Don't be sad, so's the device you used to post this.
My opinion, the only good US production ukes are Nationals and Collings, unless you want to custom shop Martin. Martins are good, but plenty of imports cost/quality are superior. You want a good Martin? Buy a Kiwaya. |

Kamaka makes a wonderful ukulele and is authentic to Hawaii.
There's plenty of others too outside of Martin Collings etc. |

I love my Ukes~
I have two, a Kelli and a Koaloha Concert I bought a few months ago when I was on Oahu for business. I incorporate the 3-4 songs Uke songs I actually know into my gigs!
