Default rock songs

Hello all. What are some good electric guitar rock songs (classic rock or more modern rock) that lend themselves well to acoustic guitar? An example would be I like playing BTO's Taking Care of Business with two acoustic guitars, one for the main parts and the other filling in the solos and riff, and I think it lends itself to the acoustics pretty cool. What other songs have you found works well like this? Thanks.

"Whole Lotta Love" works really well too. A lot of the old blues-rock stuff actually works fine.

Thanks for the replies - never thought of Dream On but now that it's been mentioned, I can see how it would fit nicely... only if I can get that high part that Tyler get's in the end

@ Laird - what do you do in the drum break / psychadelic parts in Whole Lotta Love? Always really liked that song but never thought about it for acoustic.

Early Doobie Brothers ("Listen to the Music," for example).

Seals and Crofts ("Diamond Girl," "Summer Breeze").

America ("Ventura Highway," "Sister Goldenhair").

Jim Croce (just pick one or two!).

Beatles.

Steve Miller Band.

Neil Young.

The Who.

Most of the stuff from these guys are easy to pull together on one or two acoustics....

Almost anything.

Little Wing (very nice on acoustic)
Feelin' Alright (it was an acoustic piece before Joe Cocker covered it)
Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad (Derek & The Dominoes)
Twilight (The Band - I did a nice arrangement in DADGAD)
Take It Easy (Eagles)
Fool In The Rain works very well for me on acoustic

Really...just pick stuff you like. It's all good.

Any decent sounding "electric guitar" rock song should sound great on acoustic guitar. I believe most songwriters write on acoustic guitar before they "electrify" it.

I agree with franchelB -ANY SONG!!!!

If you like the song on electric, just try an acoustic version - you can make it work.

Absolutely true! I like playing "Bell Bottom Blues" (Clapton/Derek & The Dominos) on acoustic.

Just turn them into acoustic guitar solo moments with the main vamp going.
Or skip them...

Thanks for the ideas everyone. Good songs listed. I've been experimenting with some of my favs and with a little work they can all sound good, as mentioned. Thanks again.
