Default Taylor 914C-LTD Brazilian: SOLD

SOLD. This is it. The real deal. For sale is a 2001 Taylor Limited Edition 914C with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and an Engelmann Spruce top in excellent/near mint condition. This is a highly desirable combination. The 914C cutaway grand auditorium body style is perhaps Taylor’s most popular and versatile, combined with Brazilian Rosewood, described as the holy grail of tone woods, along with an Engelmann Spruce soundboard that is reserved for the top-line 900 and Presentation series guitars.

Here is some information from Taylor at the time when these guitars were available. For the 900 series 2001 limiteds:
Bob Taylor found “50 striking sets of Brazilian rosewood backs and sides that made the grade for the 900 Series” Limited Editions. Add an “Engelmann spruce top”, and these elite guitars are a dream. Each model has the same great features as its 2001 standard 900 Series counterpart.

From Taylor’s 2015 Price List: The MSRP for a 914ce is $5978 and Brazilian Rosewood is available as an option for the 900 and Presentation Series “Starting at $6000”. With today’s pricing, an equivalent guitar would have a MSRP well over 10K.

Apparently, Engelmann Spruce is no longer offered by Taylor, which makes this guitar even more desirable. From Taylor’s current website:
We're almost out of the “good stuff.” Engelmann trees these days are so small and twisted that we get a fair amount of runout (grain that doesn't run parallel to the surface) and as a result, mismatched tops.

Furthermore, this guitar has no electronics, which makes it even more rare and desirable, since no additional holes have by drilled or cut in this beautiful Brazilian Rosewood body.

The Brazilian Rosewood on this guitar is particularly beautiful, with a high degree of exotic grain pattern and large regions that exhibit golden hues. The condition of the guitar is excellent to near mint. The Engelmann top is immaculate (no dings, scratches, not even a single pick mark or swirl). The back and sides are also very clean. I only found two small shallow surface scratches in the finish at the very bottom of the guitar near the strap button (too faint to photograph). The original 5-latch case is also is very good condition, except it is missing part of the latch buckle on the bottom end.

Price: $XXXX + pp + shipping

Thanks for your email and the positive comments. Yes, the nut width is 1 3/4 in. and the string spacing at the saddle is 2 7/32 in. measured edge to edge with Elixir nanoweb phosphor bronze light gauge strings.

Thanks for the interest and the inquiries. Unfortunately, I am not considering trades at this time.

Glad you find this guitar so stimulating, but if your condition persists for more than four hours please consult a physician.
