If your builder can build a guitar then I am pretty sure they should be able to make a pick guard. You just need to give them a photo or accurate description of the item and let them do their thang

Perhaps something like this?

Google Images could be useful?

Yes this exactly what I'm looking for was a pic thanks so much . I should have been more clear on that . This looks nice the other I seen was more like rounded end rectangle .
I drew a pic and sent to him along inquiring about one hardwood my hopes are to not take away from woods beauty as it's lucky strike and would to show off a little lol
My strumming attack does not hit the body but I finger pick more so that's why I'm looking at this option . He mention aconcern about it pealing up maybe do to size though I'm not sure .
Thanks for the picture !

I call that a "finger rest" rather than a pick guard. IMO, any such graphic element can play havoc with the general aesthetics of a guitar and is worth considering very carefully.

I just bought a clear pick guard for $7.99 and had to cut it to fit my guitar. It seems to stick well, and I wouldn't think it would peel up even if it was cut to what you are describing.

For me, I'd rather have a clear one on a redwood top than a tortoise shell one, but perhaps your Luthier will know best.

Yes finger rest I agree but google did not understand the concept lol

Yeah some of the finger rests look odd . My Luthier kind of said "suck it up butter cup! " were not doing that but agreed it's kind of cute ... I'm not sure it he was reffering to my drawing or the above picture lol

So clear acrylic it's going to be

Thanks for the help guys

I'll post a thread when she's done
