I contacted him and although he's never built any guitar with Fan Fret and Bevel he really would like to build one and is confident enough to build one based on his knowledge. He told me he builds guitars for custom orders and has yet to have one with such options. So that's the good news I guess.

The waiting list however is 3+ years apparently... That's a long wait... But probably commun for such rare master luthiers.

Interesting...that's surprising to me.

OUCH! 3-years is longer than I'm willing to wait, but I know some folks wait more than twice that long.

I'll state and quote a part of his reply here, in case it might interest more people :

"Yes, those specs are not a problem for me to build for you. I build with allot of soundports which I truly believe enhances the tone of the guitar. Fan frets and bevels/armrests I don't have a great deal of experience building but have played allot of guitars with them and have great knowledge about how it 's made and how to incorporate it tonally into the guitar.
I've been meaning for a long time to build an armrest and fan fret guitar but since all of my guitars are custom ordered I rarely have the time to build spec guitars. "

Fan frets? Sound ports?
I don't think Anders Liljeström of Finland has been mentioned yet: http://liljestromguitars.com/

He seems to go for innovative and/or individual designs. There should be threads here about a "Modern Jumbo" and a couple of OMs that he has built.

Adrian Lucas of Lincoln England made me a fine fan fret a few years ago.

I'm very happy to disagree with you there

You certainly see Michael talking to a lot of European makers at the Berlin Holy Grail show.

Michael has been instrumental (pun intended) in helping Ted Astrand's career along, bringing his work to a wider audience. And as far as I know Ted is still very much Swedish.
