Taylor Finish Scuff
In a turn of unfortunate events, my dog nudged my case when I was pulling my Taylor 526ce out, prompting it to close, scuffing my finish. According to my luthier, Taylor's UV treated finish can't be repaired seamlessly. Hoping someone can shed some light on a feasible repair route. https://imgur.com/gallery/ASAf1

Another argument that cases are n't necessarily the safest place for a guitar.
Anyway, if you want it perfect, you must return it to Taylor. If you want it pretty good, you can do a drop fill (I've done that on a Taylor with good results)

I understand that some authorized Taylor techs have what it takes to deal with the UV-cured finish. Don't know where you're located, but you might not need to ship to CA.
Also agree that this looks like a good candidate for a drop fill. |

I completely dis-agree with the luthier you took it to, UV finish, when repaired correctly, is invisible and flawless.
Your guitar looks like it's taken a bite out of the wood as well. Drip filling with super glue works really good with UV finishes as an alternative repair method., alternatively find an authorised Taylor refinishing business, they have different levels of authorised people around the world. Where in the world are you located. Steve

Glu Boost flexible CA is the best drop fill material there is, IMO.
Now, these clear liquids have a different refractive index than the UV so you might notice a clear boundary layer under certain lighting.

I have never used the Glu Boost that Fazool recommends, so I cannot comment on it.
Normal CA medium viscosity works really well for me. The trick with any finish repair, is building it up in small amounts and letting it dry properly, then sanding it back, do not try to fill it in one go, it just does not work well at all. I will PM you a link on drip fill repairing, same process with ca as I do in that one with nitro. Steve

You may be able to have most of the whitening disappear by dropping some thin shellac in before any drop fill. It looks like there are cracks in the finish of the ding, so the nice thing about alcohol borne shellac is it can soak in and permeate cracks quite well. You may or may not get the same wicking/soaking with thin CA as with shellac. I don't use CA for finish drop-fills, though others use it regularly.

Glu Boost is a very good product, better, in my experience, for finish repairs than typical, and less expensive, CA glues and way better than shellac. (I haven't tried it on a Taylor finish, however.) It is specifically formulated for finish repairs. Used with its accelerator, a drop fill can be completed in minutes and out the door, something not possible with shellac.

FWIW this isn't the Build and Repair section, and I'm assuming the OP doesn't have any experience drop filling guitar finishes. No offense to the OP, but it's a tricky job and an acquired skill. I don't honestly think it's something that the average person with no experience could do very well.
Drop filling and finish touchup is a good skill to have, and if you're interested, I encourage you to learn, but are you sure you want to practice on your Taylor?

What do you use for drop fills on catalyzed finishes? FWIW the thinnest Glu-boost CA will wick into the tiniest fissures. It's just amazing how well it works.

I have a friend who does very fine finish work, so I invite my clients to visit him if they have finishing needs that are beyond my capabilities. Rarely do they decide to visit him.

It's really not a hard thing to do.
I encourage you not to sand down to the surface however, live with any internal fill defects, taylor occasionally enhance the mahogany colours, so if you go to the surface and break into the colour, then you will possibly need to see someone. Steve
