Default New recording on my Martin O16NY, 1969

Just had the neck reset, I think it sounds pretty good and I'm pleased how versatile it is.

Hi Jonny,

Wow! Wonderful playing! I hear some John Renbourn stuff in there! I agree, the guitar sounds wonderful and you make it sound wonderful!

That was absolutely terrific!

You know, I live out on the northwest coast of the USA, but I have been through Oxford, England a couple of times with my wife and other business people, and both times stopped to have lunch at the Eagle and Child. I imagine you know this pub. Home of the "inklings."

I am so impressed to hear you play! I just loved it!

- Glenn

Glenn, let me know next time you're over, we'll meet up for a pint at the Bird and the Baby!

Thanks for sharing. There is an attractive sound to the smaller bodied guitars.

Lovely playing. I traded a 2014 CEO-7 for a 1963 0-16NY last year and am quite pleased this somewhat serendipitous opportunity came my way. Curious what strings you prefer. I have Martin 10 gauge pb extra lights now and had a terrible time putting them on the slot head. Managed to break both the unwound strings on the first attempt.
Add me to the list of those who would like to hear more of your playing.
Cheers

Thanks everyone for the kind words and I agree, there is something special about small-bodied 12 fretters.

Searead, I've only tried Martin Silk and Steels and John Pearse Silk and Steels; I prefer the Martins, more sparkle.

I have a Martin 000-15S that I like the Martin Silk and Steels on. It's a newer guitar that sounds old. I gigged with hit hard from 2002 to 2005 (a few hundred gigs a year), so it's broken in fairly well. But when I retired it from gigging, I switched over to the Silk and Steels just to give that guitar a unique sound. It's the only guitar that I use the Silk and Steels on, as they are too light to keep my hands strong enough to gig. But it's fun to come home after a week of heavy gigging and just play the Martin with it's lighter tension! Oh, and like you, I prefer the Martins over the Pearce strings, and for the same reason, the little extra brightness
