Default "Heathens"

No,not a religious connotation.
We are watching a delightful TV programme presented by the vicar of Firle, a small ancient village in the "South Downs (the southernmost part of south east England where we live. (My wife has met him a couple of times on her walks).

A region populated by man since the last ice age which formed the hills and valleys.

There are large areas called "heaths" where the soil is poor, and the local tribes allowed poorer, more primitive people to subsist in those areas.... apparently , so as in Germanic places, the "heiden", or "Heathens" was the name given to them ... it means , simply, "those in open places".

I wish you guys could watch this programme.

You may find it here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...ountains-green

I thought we were getting your version of a Twenty-One Pilots song, which seemed quite out of character for you.

My former neighbor referred to his offspring as "heathens".
It was rather appropriate based on their behavior.

Around the hidden part of town where my boat is moored , we have similar tracts of land called marshes,
the Olympic park is built on some of it.
Those of us who live here (a peculiar breed) sometimes jokingly refer to ourselves as "Martians". ..
Marsh 'uns .... geddit ?

I'm a heathen. What is the behavior?

Must have something to do with the fact that I still use an old USA Ovation to play out...

I would be a heathen (and have been referred to as one before) except we have no heaths in East Texas. Just woods. so I decided to be a sylvan instead. Some even say simian.

Well, I always thought the plural of Heathen was Heathen. But I just checked and it is Heathens.
So, more like goats than sheep. Grammatically.
