Default Rainsong Parlor Guitar Value?

I purchased a Rainsong Parlor model #w-p4 1000 rw a number of years ago from Elderly Instruments for about $400 or so and I'm having trouble finding today's value. Does anyone have any idea what they're worth now?

I can hardly believe you got a parlor for that price--that is the deal of the century.

Default ebay

I've checked ebay, but not specifically completed sales. I'll try that.

Welcome to the forum, sailboat. I believe your Parlor is the one with laminated wood back and sides, wood neck, and carbon fiber soundboard. If so, that $600 should be fair, give or take if in excellent condition.

Hope this helps

wow...was that new? what a great price. Not really knowing much about it I'd ask $1200 to start out...but wouldn't tell anyone what you paid for it:-)

so does your moniker mean you are a fellow sailor?

I haven't sailed for quite awhile, but have done in the past. I was sailing when I first signed in to the forum. Thanks for the info. I checked ebay completed sales and came up with nothing. I forgot to mention that this is an acoustic electric parlor. Apparently Rainsong stopped making them after people complained about the source of the wood on the back and sides. Had a North Korean origin apparently.

Sailboat, I am not familiar with that model. I did have a PMJ-1000 for about a dozen years - CF weave top, rosewood fretboard, laminated wood back & sides painted black. It was made in Korea and was Rainsong's early attempt to get the price point down from the Pre CF versions. The top is the most likely part to crack when dry, so using CF there makes sense, if cost cutting was the goal.

I sold it to a friend in Arizona last year who needed something less fussy for that climate. It sold for $600, and it was non-electric - no pickup, with cutaway, with a nice Rainsong gig bag.
