Exclamation Collings AT-16 Koa

Hi all,

Bill Collings was giving a talk at The Music Emporium in Massachusetts on Friday night. He had brought along with him the new AT-16 Koa. The Music Emporium posted a photo of that guitar on their Facebook page. It's a gorgeous guitar. In case you haven't seen it, the link below should take you directly to the photo posted on The Music Emporium Facebook page:

The link doesn't work for me... perhaps because the Music Emporium is a closed group?

A quick Google search of "The Music Emporium" and facebook takes you there.

(I thought Collings had discontinued their archtop line…)

Guy,
I hope Sphere's method works for you?
No, it's not a closed group.

That makes three of us. I owned a "standard" (if there is such a thing) AT16 in Adirondack over maple and it was sublime. I would love to hear how the koa compares.

I wonder whether the buyer is an AGF member…

Default Spoke to a dealer who was familiar with this unique...

AT-16.

Said it was beautiful wood, unique build along with one done with mahogany back some years ago.

His opinion was that it lacked the magic of the european maple wood, from Bill's archtop stash, and had less energy. Some who played it liked it, others who had played maple backed ones felt it was lacking.

No question, it is absolutely beautiful. Have my own piece of Collings Koa heaven to enjoy:
