I'd love to do a recording like that with a 1950 D-28 in the group, for sure.
If there is one vintage Martin that I might be able to afford, it would be a birth year, 1951 D-28. But usually those are considerably more pricey than the Authentic. I bet yours is a jewel. |

Dead heat IMO. Neither leaps out over the other. Just different. I'd give the edge to the '71 as you are obviously more comfortable on it.

Both wonderful. In a pinch, I'd go with the Authentic.

Thanks for posting Dave, very interesting. I had a 76 D 28 when I purchased my 28 A 37 two years ago. I liked the tone of both of them but ended up selling the 76 because I like the wider neck on the 28A.
The good news is the A will only get better. Mine has improved over the two years. |
