How often do you change strings?
I change the strings if I'm not getting the sound I want. I use many different kinds of strings and each set will last a different length of time. So, when I play any of my guitars, I will change strings, but only if necessary. If they still sound good, I leave them alone.

I purchase my strings in bulk. A dozen sets at a time. They cost less that $2.50 a set for PB strings. I have 5 guitars.
I change strings when the guitar tells me they need changes. There are times that a set will only last about 10 playing hours. At $2.50 a set, I don't mine changing them at all. Now my 12 string is a different story. It gets less than 10% of my playing time. I use coated strings on it. I change them about once a year.

Don't know. The only rule I have is that I change them when they begin to sound bad.
