Tonal satisfaction, at least for a night.
Recently I've started hosting an open mic. I was tossing around what gear to use. The venue is a small Tap Room, maybe 1,000 sq ft with a low ceiling, hard walls and floors. I decided to use a single Yamaha DBR12 with a Behringer Eurolive D2012 sub. I'm using my A&H Zed 60-14 mixer and a Zoom A3 pedal. For guitar I'm using a D18 with a K&K. On stage I think it sounds good but I'm too close to the speakers to really hear what they sound like. A friend of mine showed up and I let him play my guitar, this is the first chance I've had to stand back and listen to my setup and guitar. I am so pleased with what I'm hearing that my desires to buy more electronic stuff to improve the sound kind of vanished. I have all I need. Well maybe one more Sub to go with my other DBR12.

I would think that for a room that size with just acoustic guitar/vocal, the sub would be overkill. the DBR12 should have all the low end needed.
