Default Bedell Guitars, Do they all sound this good ?

Picked up a used bottom of the barrel Bedell Solid top Lam sides...Dread
BDD18m China made
This guitar is loud and has an edgy sound to it...Really Digging it
Oh it is a little bright so I put Martin Silk and Steel on it..but I might be looking for an even more warm strings

I might be interested in more Bedell's but do they all sound good ? or I'm I just lucky
And any direction on even better ones than the BDD18M(basic Dread)

Put retros on it if it's too bright!

They have a nice lineup. They partnered up with Breedlove a few years ago, for whatever that is worth knowing.

Bedell merged with Breedlove a few years back.

I have two of the all-solid models that were blown out a couple of years ago, and they are very nice instruments. The cedar/Madagascar rosewood one especially.

Yes, their solid wood models have a very rich sound. You can tell I'm happy with them from my signature.

Just curios, how do they stack up to your Eastman?

I prefer the neck in my Eastman, it's very slim and Taylor'esque. The Bedells have a chubbier neck but fuller sound, especially the 24G (cedar/rosewood). Also I like their upscale appointments like maple binding and wood inlays.

How does the Eastman tone compare to the TB 18G? Is it fuller as well?

I have owned about 10 all solid Bedells and they were all at least good. I still own 5 of them today. They seemed to have really nailed the cedar over east indian rosewood sound. Those are really sweet sounding guitars.

I have a Bedell w/ a cedar top, r/w sides that sounds outstanding.
Just ordered a new Breedlove Oregon concert-rogue, in green. Can't wait!
I got to play 5 or 6 of the Bedell's last year in Nashville. They seem to be very consistent, and loud for their sizes.

This basic model I bought a used BDD18M Dread its just what I like to ear...Loud..Note clarification... it is a little bright, so I put on Martin Silk and Steels...(They didn't have retro's) but I will be going to another store this weekend for retro's..
It has really sparked my interest in Bedell's but my budget keeps me at their discontinued Asian model's..
Would like a Cedar topped one...
A Cedar top and Rosewood one...

I really like how it has lots of overtones and is in your face...

TB 18G has sapele back and sides, the AC 420 has rosewood. I need to put fresh strings on the TB 18G to gauge if one sounds better than the other. Currently I would give the low end and the top shimmer to the Eastman. Sapele will give you solid midrange.

Thanks Kravchik: I have a breedlove and some Eastman's. I visited a Breedlove shop where the proprietor was pushing Bedells on me pretty hard. I played the one he wanted me too, but found his style a bit distasteful and didn't give it a fair shake. I know the TB24G is sapele vs. RW on the 420, but figured the two spruce topped guitars comparison would give me a fuller picture that would be a more apt than the mere comparison between cedar/RW and Spruce/RW.

Sounds like they too punch above their weight class.

Yep! I have two BDD-18-M's that are about 14 years old.....the sound has really developed in the last year....they are monsters now....sound like vintage martins. Woody, loud, open, depth! Very vintage.....one is better then the other but they are both very good. Bass and treble are great....put zero glide zero fret nuts on them....amazing sustain.

It's unfortunate to hear that Eastman beats Bedell in the low-end register, as Eastmans are already pretty bright (almost too bright) in my opinion.
