Default Need help creating a good sound bite to help me sell my acoustic guitar.

Hi, I am in need of help for tips/guidance for preparing a sound bite or youtube video clip to include in a classified ad to help me sell my guitar. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Michael C.

What's your equipment?

For example I can get a decent result using an iPhone or iPad, but using an external quality USB mic. The Apogee MiC Lightning is perfect. Another option is to use the Zoom iQ7. Still another is the $150 Zoom Q2N.

After you record using any of those methods, you can upload to the tube.

If you use the Apogee, have the mic 2-3 feet away from the front of your guitar... not directly in front of the soundhole... closer to fretboard. Video can stay as back as you like.

Experiment. Rooms are different.

Thank you for your ideas here. They are very helpful. I will look into this. I also enjoyed listening to some of your recordings!

Probably forget the sound recording. Very unlikely to be good enough to help sell the guitar. May hurt sale instead.

I would tend to agree with this.
Good photos will do the most to help sell a guitar. Poor photos or none is arguably the single biggest detriment to posting in the classifieds.
