Default The Power of Jamming, with music link

I've posted in the past about one of the (almost) weekly Ladies jam I attend. Last night was my turn to host and I got an hour and a half of recording, 9 of the 13 songs we played.

this clip is one we've been working on for a few months, and it is a good representation of a song in progress for us. It's far enough along to be really enjoyable to play, even with the bumps still to smooth out.

there are three guitars, two voices (I'm the 2nd voice), and a flute.

I feel pretty good about how we maintain the pace during the discussion with the flute player.

That's very solid for a jam group, good work!

We are intentionally a mix of jam and woodshed and have enjoyed supporting one another's musical growth over the last six years.

It's just the same four of us most of the time, with a handful of 3-4 x a year invitation to others.

We get such satisfaction from the music that happens when we get together.!

I recommend it highly.

Wonderful! Shades of Jethro Tull and the Marshall Tucker Band with the flute

How did you record it?

I'm still using my iPhone, but now that I'm playing with others more often I am thinking about an upgrade.

Recording was done with that cute little Shure mic - MV88 - that plugs into my iPad Pro. (Or any iDevice)

I had it sitting on the table about 8' from the circle of players and I sure am pleased with the sound quality.

The app for the mic is simple to use and makes splitting the long recording into individual tracks very easy.

It is a great first step beyond the iDevice built in mic.

That sounds like so much fun. Very entertaining and it's what this music thing is all about. Thanks for sharing your music. You sounded great.
