Eric Skye; Three Portland Oregon Shows In September
Saturday September 16th I will be playing a house concert in SE Portland with mandolinist Tim Connell. I think we’re gonna keep things pretty traditional and play our whole June Apple record, but you never really know where things might go. RSVP/info: [email protected]
Sunday September 24th I’m playing a concert with Bay Area guitarist Steve Baughman http://www.celticguitar.com Steve has many records out, books, and perfumes and teaches all over the country. He really is one of the world's very best Celtic acoustic guitarists. We’re at the wonderful “Little Church” in NE Portland, right off Alberta. We are each going to play a solo set of fingerstlye guitar, and then try to play a few things together as well. RSVP/info: [email protected] Saturday September 30th I’m playing the fabulous Lincoln Hall at Portland State University with Tim Connell. We’ll play a few things from June Apple, but also branch out into some other styles as well. This is part of the Portland Guitar Society's 30th Anniversary Concert that also features the Al-Andalus Ensemble which consists of oud player Tarik Banzi and flamenco guitarist Julia Banzi. The young classical phenom Travis Johnson, and the ever soulful, blues great Norman Sylvester. Tickets at http://guitarface.brownpapertickets.com And some miscellaneous news and info In case you missed it, I have a new page on my website with all my arrangements of traditional fiddle tunes, as well as thoughts about playing that music, at http://ericskye.com/fiddle-tunes/ And we lost Glen Campbell a few weeks back. Here’s a little nod to him from my kitchen. This is a Jimmy Webb tune he made famous, and was featured in the must-see documentary film about Glenn, I’ll Be Me. This is Wichita Lineman https://youtu.be/fTSCUpeOEME Lastly, looks like I have room for three more students this Fall. In case you didn't know that I teach, I do, and right out of my home in the Grant Park area of NE Portland. Best,e |

My timing is just a hair off. I'm actually going to be in Portland the 8th through the 14th and would love to see Eric and Tim. Anyone who has a chance to go should take advantage of the opportunity, you'll have a blast.
